Arts Based Psychotherapy or Art Therapy can be used to investigate important life matters and concerns in a meaningful and empowering way. Put simply, Art Therapy alongside counselling and other forms of psychotherapy, can use a variety of creative processes, which allows self-exploration and personal development. This process can help you reach new understandings in order to make choices to increase your personal well-being.
Sessions can be helpful for any age group, individuals, and groups for a wide range of situations, including:
Stress
Anxiety
Depression
Creative blocks
Grief & Loss
Life direction
Relationships
Eating Disorders
Post and Ante Natal Depression and anxiety
Trauma
Self Esteem issues
Disabilities (Including family and carers)
Through these sessions Jacqui will guide a non blaming arts based inquiry to explore and unfold what matters most. Jacqui will also implement aspects of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems and CBT as required. It is through being together that we can make sense of our lived experience. As new understandings emerge we can find ways to develop and live differently.
Jacqui will also work alongside other mental health practitioners to ensure a holistic approach to an individual's care and well being.
Jacqui is a Professional member of ANZACATA, and Australian Counselling Association, a registered VIT teacher, holds a current police check and Victorian WCC.
